襟裳岬の突端にある灯台です。 断崖絶壁の上は芝生、その芝生の上に立つ白い灯台です。

灯台の高さ自体は地面からそれほど高くありませんが、 断崖絶壁にあるため、 海面からの高さは高くなります。

風が強いことでも有名な襟裳岬です。

岩礁が沖の方まで繋がっていて、 アザラシの生息地でもあります。

海と断崖絶壁と大地と空、 絶景のスポットです。

森進一さんの 襟裳岬の歌が有名ですが、 歌詞の書いてある碑が灯台の近くにあます。

島倉千代子さんの 襟裳岬の歌碑も並んでいます。

すぐ近くに風の館があり、 展望室にてアザラシウォッチングが出来たり、 展示物があったり、 暴風体験が出来たり、 楽しめる場所となっています。
