Japan’s Mt. Fuji is an active volcano about 100 kilometers southwest of Tokyo. Commonly called “Fuji-san,” it’s the country’s tallest peak, at 3,776 meters and is known for its graceful conical form. It is the country's sacred symbol, and temples and shrines are located around and on the volcano. A pilgrimage site for centuries, it’s considered one of Japan’s 3 sacred mountains, and summit hikes remain a popular activity. Its iconic profile is the subject of numerous works of art, notably Edo Period prints by Hokusai and Hiroshige. Note however, that clouds and poor visibility often block the view of Mount Fuji, and you have to consider yourself lucky if you get a clear view of the mountain. Visibility tends to be better during the colder seasons of the year than in summer, and in the early morning and late evening hours than during the middle of the day.
If you want to enjoy Mount Fuji at a more leisurely pace and from a nice natural surrounding, you should head to the Fuji Five Lake (Fujigoko) region at the northern foot of the mountain, or to Hakone, a nearby hot spring resort. Mount Fuji is officially open for climbing during July and August via...

Even you will lose your importance if you stay so long with us. " Really my Japan🇯🇵 journey became successful and complete after...
Read moreIt was majestic. Actually this was my first time climbing a mountain ever and I think this was the best way to start. Even though it was mid-July beware that it is 3000+ altitude so it’s freaking cold even though the below is hot. There are many stops on the way to top and you can rest and eat in those stations. My friends didn’t recommend that because it was expensive and when you get in to warm place it was harder to continue. So we are or sandwiches on top of the mountain. Top is very wide and you can walk around on black soil and eat and chat there. Going down is an experience as well as going up. You got to be careful not to fall on stones because it’s tricky in...
