Kamaiwakan — Attraction in Fujiyoshida

The dinner was good and facilities clean and comfortable enough. Unfortunately, my issue is with the staff. My fiance and I stayed here while climbing Fuji recently, and as I DO speak and understand Japanese, the rules of the hut were discussed with me in Japanese. I was extremely tired and couldn't think straight after the hike, so I apparently couldn't answer his questions for me correctly, that's on me. However, I did understand quite clearly when this employee began to have a conversation right in front of me, in Japanese, explaining that I don't actually understand the language because he couldn't get the right answer out of me seconds after I burst through the door, detailing all the embarrassing errors I had made, and instructing everyone to speak to me only in English. It was incredibly embarrassing to be talked about right in front of my face like that, especially knowing he thought he could take advantage of his perceived language barrier between us. Then he began speaking single word sentences to me in English during interactions that an idiot could have understood in Japanese, and in the morning, though the staff said good morning in both english and japanese to their other guests, my fiance and I were not greeted at all and were ignored. The experience for me was embarrassing and infuriating, I understood every word of what was said about me behind my back, and I hope the staff are embarrassed to have been so rude and disrespectful. For a country with a lot of pride about their good nature and respect for others, that was not a very Japanese...

J'ai réservé un box pour une personne un jours avant mon arrivée et j'en ai eu pour 16 500 yens, soit 103 € ce qui est je pense normal vu l'emplacement et la réservation tardive. J'ai choisi un box séparé, car je sais que prendre une place en dortoir peut être risqué. Il suffit que vos voisins soient un peu bruyants ou ronflent pour que vous ne fermiez pas l'œil de la nuit ce qui pourrait transformer la monter en un cauchemar.

Le box en question était quand même très très basique et assez petit, je fais 1m74 et il restait 5 cm. Il y a juste un sac de couchage pas de couverture et l'oreiller quel cauchemar c'était un petit rectangle pas très épias recouvert d'un plastique dur. Le sol matelassé du box est également assez dur et pas très confortable. Il y a une aération que l'on peut activer et une prise électrique, pour ma part, il a fait assez bon, j'étais au chaud durant toute la nuit.

Pour ce qui est de la nourriture à notre arrivé le personnel, nous indique l'heure du dîner qui était inclus dans la réservation, vous avez le choix entre un repas avec viande et un repas végétarien. Mais ce n'est pas un repas très copieux surtout qu'au réveil le petit-déjeuner n'est pas inclus. Hormis quelques ramens instantanés, il n'y a pas grand-chose à acheter, donc vraiment prévoyez d'emporter de la nourriture avant la montée.

En ce qui concerne l'extérieur, la vue était magnifique, il y avait également des toilettes dans une hutte séparée, mais pas d'eau même pas pour se laver les mains ce qui est à souligner.

En résumé, j'ai quand même eu du mal à dormir à cause du bruit dans les pièces voisines, du sol matelassé archi dur, l'oreiller inexistant. Je dirai que cette hutte est bien pour pouvoir monter le Fuji après 16 h, mais elle n'est pas très reposante, je pense que beaucoup de gens ne doivent même pas réussir à dormir correctement .

Mais sur le moment, j'étais tellement impatient de finir la montée et de voir le lever du soleil que tout cela ne m'a pas tant dérangé que ça au final.

days before our adventure, we booked a night for 5 people. kamaiwakan is located on the seventh station. it is the second lodge closest to the fifth station and of course, one of the farthest from the summit. they served a good meal! the people were very accommodating. if you are lucky, you get to see the sea of clouds. however, if you plan to climb up to the summit for sunrise, i suggest that you stay in a lodge located on the eight station so that it will be easier for you to reach the summit. ||||our climb to the top is very challenging! but it was all worth it! best season to go there is of...
