沖縄本島の東側、宜野座村にあるスポーツ施設。プロ野球の阪神タイガースがキャンプを行う場所として有名。 沖縄とはいえ、キャンプシーズンの2月は風が強い日も多く、気温差がバクチのように激しいため服装は悩ましい。 メインのスタジアムは、内野席はしっかりあるが外野席は芝生。 キャンプ中は土日平日関係なく多くのファンが訪れるようで、飲食店、グッズ売場、イベントステージ等が展開され、1日居ても楽しめる。逆に、キャンプが無い時期の状況が気になる。 宜野座村の人口は5500人ほど。そこに、キャンプ中の紅白戦や練習試合ともなると2万人以上訪れるので、一定の経済効果があるように思う。 しかし、普段の混雑具合との落差が激し過ぎて、駐車場やトイレの数が不足気味。 選手との距離感が近くなるのは、ド平日の練習日かな。1週間ほど滞在し、本島を観光しつつキャンプも楽しめれば、充...
