This is a lighthouse worth dropping by if you are in the vicinity. It also seems to be quite popular perhaps with the regional locals. It's a known habitat for sea otters (huge ones!) and you can see them floating in the sea and enjoying the kelps.

この岬周囲は突然の濃霧に閉ざされることが多く、誰が呼んだか霧多布。今では本名の湯沸岬よりもこちらの方が通りがいいようです。実際、岬の突端の標識にも「きりたっぷ岬」とあるくらいです。 初点灯は1930年（昭和5年）10月11日。塔高は12.3 mで、灯火標高は49.4 m。光達距離が19海里の灯台です。灯質は単閃白赤光（毎5秒に1閃光）です。明弧は全度（360度）で白光が270度～215度を照射、危険な岩礁「帆掛岩」がある215度～270度は赤光が照射しています。 灯台は岬の突端の結構な断崖の上にあります。周囲には風を遮るものは何もなく、灯台までの小道ではずいぶんと風に煽られました。野生のラッコを見れるとのことでしたが、残念ながら一頭も見れずじまいでした。仕方ありません、一通り写真を撮ると最終目的地の釧路空港に向かいました。 ところでこの周辺から厚岸にかけてはヒグマがよく出没します。道中至る所に「ヒグマ出没」の看板が出ていて結構ビビらされました。でもトイレ休憩は必要です。やむなく街道筋のトイレに入りましたが、背後でガサガサと音がします。ぎょっとして振り向くとそこにはエゾシカが…............... 今度は簡易トイレを持って来ましょう。

You walk few minutes from the camp site to the light house. Clear pathways and lots of flowers during July. Very cute red lighthouse! Sunset is very beautiful here.
