I have been to Miyajima and enjoyed the nature and decided to walk all the way to the temple which takes about 45_60min. The hike is amazing and way even for beginner. Stunning views of the sea side, the mountain, botanic gardens, birds... very peaceful very quiet. The temple itself is nothing special maybe it will make more sense and emotuon for someone bouddhiste but i was not impressed at all. Also keep in mind that the temple is in the middle of nowhere. There is no toilets no water like in other temple so make sure you are prepared. The hike was well worth it amazing landscape

Yes. It's quiet and 'off the beaten path'. However, as of this writing, the shrine seemed to be somewhat under construction, or in the process of refurbishment. The hike to the temple is an exercise in understanding the fundamentals of karma. On the walk there, you will experience the bliss of a long relaxing cruise downhill; your return, however, will be a grueling uphill slog. Overall, while it's not as spectacular as other temple sites, if you enjoy the exercise/ nature/ solitude, I would recommend it.

One of the most peaceful and incredible places I found on this island, shrines and altars pop out in the silence surrounded by high trees. If you plan to do the hike on island a stop here is heavily recommended. No tickets or reservation needed as there is no one around.
