It is a small and cute castle situated on top of the hill. Has a wonderful and majestic view of the town in the valley. I drove from Hida just because I was curious and I was not disappointed. They do close at 4 PM so make sure you get there before closing time. The view was really nice and calming, not much people and the other visitors were local tourist. Nice place to go if you want off the beaten path spots since it’s an easy drive from Hida...

Extensive archeological work has been undertaken in this beautiful part of the Japanese Alps. It is documented in this Castle museum with detailed English descriptions. There are displays of artefacts from 3000BC found on the site and in depth historical accounts of of every subsequent era. Certainly worth a detour off the usual...

It is a small and cute castle situated on top of the hill. Has a wonderful and majestic view of the town in the valley. I drove from Hida just because I was curious and I was not disappointed. They do close at 4 PM so make sure you get there before closing time. The view was really nice and calming, not much people and the other visitors were local tourist. Nice place to go if you want off the beaten path spots since it’s an easy drive from Hida and Takayama.

夏の花火大会の際に行きました。 最高に素敵でした。

神岡城は元は武田信玄が越中への侵攻目的のために作られた拠点城である。江馬 時盛（えま ときもり)が築城したが、1615年には徳川幕府により一国一城により廃城している! その後、神岡の鉱山では鉱物抽出の際に出る大量のカドミウムにより高原川や神通川が汚染され人的被害イタイイタイ病を発生させている。もっと早くに厚生省が対策に出ていればと悔やまれる.......! もともと明治初年から昭和にかけて川を汚染していたが、やっと昭和43年に厚生省が認め、三井金属鉱山側も対策に動く。 現在では下流の富山神通川流域では土壌改良事業が進められている。 また、三井金属鉱山株式会社も地域の改良や発展に寄与している。この神岡城もこの会社の寄贈によって再築城されている。
