Great nature spot for walk or hiking, there is a cool Damn there too with beautiful blue water below. Free parking available on top of damn area or bottom of walk. We went during fall season so the trees were colorful and it's worth checking out for sure. At the top of the damn there is a coffee shop and a couple crepe vendors and soft serve...

Lovely gorge. You can walk along the path next to the road and explore the side detours like Yamba Dam and various bridges. In autumn, there is a kan-etsu bus that runs the route from Iwashima Station to Yamba Dam with stops along the way (300 yen per trip). Stopped by the roadside station to dip in the public...

If you're in the area already it's worth a stop. It's quite lovely. We were heading to the Snow Monkey Park and wanted to get there as early as possible (since in the late afternoon the monkeys leave the park) so we just had a quick visit to the gorge. But I would have loved to stay longer and...
