日本一短い鉄道トンネルだったトンネル。今は吾妻線が八ッ場ダムの完成により別の線路に付け替えとなったためこちらは廃止されました。 この廃線跡は自転車型トロッコで巡ることができる観光スポットに変わりました。渓谷の遊歩道を歩いていると時折楽しそうな観光客の嬌声が聞こえてきます。廃線になってもまだまだ現役で頑張っています。

2024.11.19 訪問 猿橋から遊歩道をダム方面に少し進むと、日本一短かった鉄道トンネル「樽沢トンネル」があります。 トンネルは山肌の上部で、木々に隠れ良く見えませんでした。 案内板はありました。 廃線を利用した自転車型トロッコ「アガッタン」を見ることが出来ました。 皆さん渓谷美を楽しんでいました。

かつては長野原に向かうには必ず通る道だったと思います。運転しているとあまり気が付かない事が、今回ランニングしながら楽しめました。 まだ線路や架線はそのままのようですが、この先のダム下で行き止まりです。今は群馬県の発電所を作っていました。
