The Asahidake Ropeway is a must-visit in Hokkaido, offering a smooth 10-minute ride from 1,100m to 1,600m with stunning alpine views. The spacious cabins provide a fantastic panorama, showcasing vibrant wildflowers in summer, golden foliage in autumn, and snow-covered landscapes in winter. At the top, visitors can enjoy an easy one-hour trail around Sugatami Pond, where you can see volcanic vents and breathtaking mountain vistas.

The area is perfect for casual hikers and nature lovers. Amenities include a shop and café at the base station and light refreshments at the summit station. To make the most of your visit, go early to avoid crowds, dress warmly as it’s cooler at the top, and be prepared for sudden weather changes. Whether you're seeking adventure or a peaceful retreat, this ropeway offers an unforgettable experience in...

lovely weather today as we started the day but, it was expected to rain in the evening, we left the hotel with the skies sunny and temperatures warm, Upon arrival we paid ¥500 to park at a spot pretty close to the entrance to the ropeway, we caught the 1115am ride and by now cool breezy and cloudy, the views were spectacular, did the one hour loop hike anti clockwise as the bulk of the rest opted for clockwise, as the path was relatively dry, I'd rather have dust on my shoes than mud, it's a joy to have done both this and the Kurodake ropeway and chair lift, we came down on the 115 pm ride after eating a snack and washing it down with coffee, very...

Worse experience ever, they stopped the operation of the cable car for sometime because of the weather issue. Then they started the operation of the cable car again so we went up for the cable car. They mentioned in the announcement that the view is clear but we cannot see anything at all. The tracking way to the observation deck is all iced and no one clean for it, it was super slippery. They do not accept refunds if your ropeway ticket is stamped. See nothing and spent for 21 euro per person. Biggest scam ever, they should have warned us if the view is...
