Just like it’s kanji (meaning beautiful), it indeed live up to its name :D Beautiful and wide and sooo relaxing. We were quite lucky that the beach isn’t crowded when we visited the place on September ( since summer vacation is over). However, not so many shops are visible around the beach so best to buy the things needed before visiting the area. There’s only one shop in there that we found

It was a great day! Sun was out, wind was blowing (acting like a hair dryer), and water was warm for a northeastern American like myself. The views were incredible (which I had attached some pictures) & it was not even close to being crowded. We had eaten at the little cafe which was very convenient. It was affordable, and pretty good.

Do not visit if you want to experience nature. Do visit if you want to drink and BBQ. Beautiful beach. But lots of noise pollution, both from the music they play and airplanes overhead. Unfortunately they don’t let you swim in the main beautiful area. Only in a roped off section. Also they play music constantly at high volume! So much noise pollution, you can hardly hear the waves. Very Asia/Japan type of operation. Seems like a large government project. Too bad about the music and the swim off area. But I can see this place being very fun if you are drinking with your friends and BBQing.

Awesome beach to go to, even during non-seasonal hours (closed for swimming) as there's a nice kid's park there too. Great views for the adults (on a clear day) and great activities for kids too, including a mini outdoor rock climbing wall.

Bibi 美美海灘。海灘坐落於酒店Southern Beach Resort 前面, 大部份的水上活動, 更衣沐浴措施齊全。沙灘有一條石橋，很適合拍攝一些漂亮的照片，甚至婚紗照。 但這不是我們今次的介紹重點。 陽光普照的時候，從美美海灘向右望，大約二三百米外會看到很多人聚集。但是地圖上，卻找不到這個沙灘名字。 這一個無名海灘，是本地人的水上活動中心。風帆，SUP, 獨木舟, 釣魚, 游泳, 浮潛, 甚至潛水也可以在這裏進行。但是因為被堤壩蓋過，開車經過也不會察覺。 這裡，只要不是大雨後，海水常常也會清澈見底。水非常淺，即使漲潮向外走幾百米水仍不過腰。 小朋友走在水中會看到一羣一羣的魚穿梭著，超興奮！ 從沙丘向外海望，會看見一個小島，名字叫做岡波岩。這裏便是我們今次的目的地。從沙灘走過去，退潮的時候，水非常淺，彷彿可以走路直達。但中間相隔一段航道，大約50米闊，這部份需要游泳才能渡過。爸爸穿上蛙鞋，拖著載有媽媽和Mia 的SUP 渡海（好很重！） 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻（請量力而行，船不多但有機會出現水流！！） 這是一個無人島，大量海燕在這裏築巢。島的背後，有一塊秘寶，而且很多本地人也不知道。 島上可以看見非常完整的鯨魚化石！（當然是鯨魚骨！） 我們去看過，Mia 卻說：嘩！佷大！她堅持全山頭也是化石....好，決定保留她的天真。 真正的化石陷入在地下，低頭便可以看見完整的鯨魚骨骼。 沙灘本身沒有沐浴措施，玩完後可以走路去旁邊的Bibi 美美海灘沐浴。所以如果準備下水，建議把車子停在BiBi美美海灘的免費停車場。

What's in a name? Nothing. But 美々sure lives up to its name! Beach is wide, white, blue ocean, and faces towards the sunset. You can see kerama islands and watch airplanes overhead. Minus one point for being a city beach.
