Came on a weekend, the parking situation was crazy. There was already a long line from the main road just to get I to the parking lot. But once inside, the staff inside help guided you to empty parking spaces. The market itself is huge. It had everything you can think of from fish, meat, veggies, premade food, dessert, flowers, dry goods, etc. Everything seemed to be from the local producers and the prices are very reasonable. It was quite packed and you’re consistent bumping into people no matter how careful you. Overall it’s a nice place to visit to get local products. But expect to be patient for...
Read morePeople are calling it cheap on the comments but most of us 'locals' know it's a bit pricier than some of the other markets around- but it's worth dropping by for all the variety in terms of local produce. Being the most famous agricultural supermarket in Itoshima they do tend to have more on offer than anywhere else. You'll find Amao strawberries here - some of the finest in Japan, and the ice-cream is great and uses fresh cream sourced right next door at the dairy farm. if you like grilled eel Kitanoya Eel nearby is absolutely superb and has a legendary reputation among Itoshima residents and...
Read moreEnglish info bottom.
I Don’t recommend to visit here if you are visiting Fukuoka as a short time tourist. This is a little better and more expensive Aeon super market. Don’t waste your time.
I highly recommend to avoid visiting here opening time such as right after 9am. Most of customers are very aggressive and they may push you for getting items (like a thanksgiving sale in the U.S.)and make you feel sad. I don’t want show those type of people for my kids so I went there afternoon then there is no items left. Probably best time is 11am ish.
They don’t have much organic options. People are digging chemical(pesticides) coated strawberries and farm grown fishes. In my image of Itoshima is more cool and slow life place but reality is not what I thought.
You can search local small business close to your hotel which carries local produce so you can buy and support real...
