This place has a special, significant and sentimental attachment for me. Not only for the abilty to get a great photo of the volcano, and a wonderful panoramic view of Kagoshima, but my father's ashes were spread near the lookout amongst the pines. He loved Japan, the volcano and pine trees, so it was an obvious choice. If you are there and want to, please feel free to tip your hat to Ian Thompson; he loved meeting strangers 😀👍

If you come with the tourist bus, you will have about 5 minutes to enjoy the nice view of Sakurajima at this observation deck. The bus will stop for 5 minutes or so. You just go enjoy the view and come back to the same bus. If you don't want to come back to the same bus, I suggest you to tell the driver about that. At this spot, there are some restrooms you can use.

Nice scenic observation deck for a good break during your tour to Sakurajima. There is a toilet and water cooler here as well. There are alot of clingy cats that will follow you and invade your personal space, so this may not be the best stop for those who have a fear of cats. I was trying to escape from the cats and did not manage to take a photo of the scenery.

If you come with the tourist bus, you will have about 5 minutes to enjoy the nice view of Sakurajima at this observation deck. The bus will stop for 5 minutes or so. You just go enjoy the view and come back to the same bus. If you don't want to come back to the same bus, I suggest you to tell the driver about that.
