A wonderful and surprisingly detailed nature centre! While the building itself is not large, it's packed with fascinating exhibits that feel like a small natural history museum. It's a fantastic place for anyone, especially those who may not be familiar with the complexities of the natural world, to learn and explore.
The collection of specimens, particularly the insects, is incredibly comprehensive and well-presented. I was amazed by the detailed displays on beetles, biodiversity, and even the differences between various animal droppings. There are also fun interactive elements, like buttons to hear different bird calls and a microscope to view a vibrant world of colors. It makes the experience engaging for all ages.
One small thing that made me a bit sad was a turtle in an aquarium that seemed to be trying very hard to get out; it kept swimming against the glass. It was a minor point in an otherwise fantastic visit, but it did weigh on my mind.
Overall, it was a truly great experience with so much to see. I would highly recommend a visit, especially if you have an interest in insects. As a bonus, if you're lucky, you might even see large herds of deer right outside the building!
