O Santuário Owarido está localizado em Higashitaniyama Tumulus, um local histórico da Agência para Assuntos Culturais, no cume do Monte. 尾張戸神社（おわりべじんじゃ）。名古屋市守山区上志段味東谷。

式内社（小）、旧郷社。 東谷山（とうごくさん）の山頂に鎮座する。別称として「熱田の奥の院」や「東谷明神」・「当国明神」とも。

主祭神：天火明命 天香語山命 建稻種命（たけいなだねのみこと） 【関係氏族】尾張氏

資料によると、 成務天皇5年に宮簀媛（みやずひめ、古墳時代の豪族・尾張国造の女性（建稲種命の妹）、日本武尊の最後の配偶者）の勧請によって創建されたという。

社名の尾張戸(部)は尾張氏族に基づいていると思われ、尾張戸神社は尾張氏の氏神であつたと思われる。

天香語山命（高倉下命）は、庄内川対岸の高蔵山に降り立ち、のち東谷山に移ったという。この際に白鹿に乗って川を渡ったという。

東谷山の西麓(志段味側)は古墳群で、当社の社殿も古墳の上に建つている。 古墳を主体とし、それから発生した神社であろう。

かつては熱田神宮に次ぐ大社であったとする伝えもある。
