On 28 March 2023, after a 2pm cruise at Shimato, in the southwest, we bumped into here on our way to Shimonada station in the northwest. We were hungry but the restaurant was closed. We bought and ate strawberries and very nice ice cream cones!

大きくてリアルな鬼『鬼王丸』がシンボルの道の駅です。地域の特産品だけでなく、高知県を含む周辺地域の特産品から日用品まで、幅広く取り扱っています。鬼北町という全国でも珍しい『鬼』という文字をいかして、お米なども鬼米と呼んだり、鬼を使ったアイデア商品がたくさん販売されています。野菜やケーキなども種類が豊富です。 食事も出来ますが、規模はとても小さいです。特産のキジを使った料理等があります。トイレも、もちろん、あります。 この場所で１日遊ぶのではなく、あくまで、旅行の途中に立ち寄るところです。目的地に行く途中で、休憩がてら寄り道してほしい道の駅です。

お土産の横に店員さんの写真があり、（にっこり写って）自由な気風がありそうです。そこに立っていた人がその人だと確信し「これ、あなたですよね?」って、聞くと、「そうです！」って！ 何か丸ごと町ごと楽しんでいる道の駅です。 もっと滞在したかったですが、時間がなくって。 施設は、レストランやくじの売店など、町の拠点となっている気がした。 ファイル購入時、その店員さんが、「これは．．。」って説明してくれました。 「この辺の方言で、来て、見て、買ってっていう意味です。」自由さと気さくさのある張り切り姉さんもいる、おもてなしの道の駅です。（写真３）

愛媛県北宇和郡鬼北町の道の駅です。 国立指定公園の滑床渓谷、四万十川等からも近く、その観光スポットへ訪れる途中で立ち寄る方も多くいらっしゃるかと思います。 ゴールデンウィーク等の観光シーズンには、ライダーやサイクリングを楽しむ人も見掛けます。 大きな赤鬼、『鬼王丸』のモニュメントが一際目を引きます👹 敷地内には、採れたての新鮮なお野菜や、手作りのお菓子、お弁当など販売している 青空市や、レストラン、宝くじ売場もあります。 トイレ、自販機コーナーもあります。 また、EV車専用(電気チャージ)の駐車場もあります。
