Roadside Rest Area "Onneyu-Onsen” — Attraction in Kitami

Michinoeki Onneyu Onsen is always our go-to stop during road trips to eastern Hokkaido. After a long drive along Route 39, it’s the first roadside station we encounter, making it an essential and refreshing break.

The facilities are clean and well-maintained, with a great selection of local products and snacks. The soothing onsen atmosphere adds to its charm, and the friendly staff make every visit pleasant. Large roadside station set around a large park area. The front grey building contains toilets, a smoking area and a tourist information desk. The Pokemon manhole cover is at the back of this building. Behind this building is the clock tower and the building with the souvenir shop and more toilets. 北見市にある道の駅で、 道東と道北を繋ぐ中継点になっています。

「果夢林」という高さ約20mのハト時計が、広い駐車場内で存在感を放っています。 なんでも、からくり人形と世界最大のハト時計を組み合わせたもので…… 時報に合わせて楽器を手にした妖精が踊りだし、羽の長さが２mという大きなハトが登場するらしい。 ハトの名前は〈ポッポちゃん〉だとか。

ちなみに、「果夢林」は…… 果てしなく夢が広がる木（林)の町……という意味が込められている、との事。

ドライブの休憩で寄らせて頂きました。 ここは木に特化しているようです。 もしや…と思い探したら…… ありました！ お気に入りの≪カエルが蓮の葉を傘にしている木製の置物≫。 以前、北海道の旅行中に買ったもので、同じものを何年も旅行先で探していました。 やっと見つけました！ 即、購入です！！

また、ここには木製遊具があって……「木の宮殿」「木の砂場」「木の釣り堀」、大型らせん滑り台……そして木工体験もでき、子供さんも楽しめそうです。

せっかくなので「ポッポちゃん」を見たくなりました。 妖精が踊り最後に登場する「ポッポちゃん」。約５分間しっかり堪能しました。 動画を載せました。 でも遠くからの撮影なので、「ポッポちゃん」の羽の２m、その大きさはわかりずらいかも？です(笑)
