Read moreI did not expect the Pear museum to be this fantastic. The displays may seem old school, yet the content is really good. It explains how the 20th century Pear is invented. From improving the soil, how to grow, how to harvest and automatically scanned the sweetness of pearls to packaging, it demonstrates the jointed effort of Tottori prefecture farmers. I especially liked a display, showing the whole process of growing pears. When you pressed the button, it showed you pictures of production, a little camera will run around the model, showing different sections. Read moreSuch a special fun museum! It took about an hour for me to get there from Tottori station and the buses and trains do not run too frequently so plan ahead and know the train/bus times so you can keep watch.
The museum itself is easy to find because it is so big!!! I was not expecting that. Only 150¥ to enter and there are 2 floors. A wealth of information in each section and even a library!
