戦艦大和が建造されたドックの屋根が、歩道橋を渡った所から見られます。 大和が建造されたドックは埋められてしまったようですが、屋根は残され、看板に「大和のふるさと」と掲げられています。 今後も残してい...

歴史が見える丘にある記念塔のひとつ。戦艦大和にまつわる説明盤あり。搭の正面左側に戦艦長門の砲弾、右側に戦艦大和の砲弾が鎮座する。海側を眺めるとかって戦艦大和を建造したドック、にょきにょきのっぽの巨大クレーン群や入渠中の護衛艦などが拝める。 噫（ああ）戦艦大和塔 は戦艦大和を模したもので、1945年4月7日、坊ノ岬沖での戦いで沈没した際の戦死者三千名余りを慰霊する。合掌。 戦艦大和は、2番艦武蔵とともに史上最大の戦艦。基準排水量64000トン、満載時72800トン、全長263m、出力153000馬力、最大速力27.5ノットを誇った。就役1941年12月16日。史上最大の46cm主砲は、1460kgの砲弾を最大42km飛ばしたそうな。すんごいね。
