Bishamondō Temple — Attraction in Kyoto

2024/12/09 やっと敷紅葉が見られました。

例年より10日〜14日遅れ。

雨になるタイミングが遅かったので、 ベストとは言えないですね。

さらに奥に行った塔頭寺院の双林院（山科聖天）の前のほうが綺麗でした。

綺麗な敷き紅葉が撮れるのは雨が上がった早朝（〜09:00）です。

敷き紅葉が見られる勅使坂は通り道なので、開門時間の09:00頃になると人通りで紅葉が散らされてしまいます。

着物やカップル写真撮影で、3分以上も一箇所にとどまってポートレートを撮っているアジア系外国人が散見されますが、公共の場所です。

周りをよく見て、 待っている方がいれば早々に切り上げるか 中断して譲りましょう。

徒歩の方 添付の地図を見て、歩車分離が安全のため望ましいと思います。

車と接触しないために、 車通りの多い毘沙門通りに入ったら 右側の白線の中に 横並びせず 縦一列で 歩きましょう。

Went there to see coloured leaves in November 2018. It was a weekend and there were some tourists - mainly Japanese, but I think the place was not packed as other popular temples in Kyoto City. A little out of the way from the main tourist area in Kyoto, this shrine is located on a hill after walking past the quiet residential area.

The shrine is known for the beautiful autumn leaves. It was too early in the season for me to enjoy that but I was glad I decided to visit here.
