Our stay at this Ryokan was one of 4 on our trip to Japan. The staff here were absolutely amazing and the dinner was too. The onsen are lovely, although more quaint than you’ll find at an upscale property, but they more than make up for it with their hospitality and kaisekke. The baked whole fish was out of this world and the sashimi was some of the best I’ve ever had. I didn’t catch her name, but there is a VERY upbeat and friendly young lady working here who has very clearly dedicated herself to providing the best service possible to her guests and it was so appreciated. I hope to come back one day. The property is also right next to the two rocks formation and the Kumomi Sengen shrine (5 minute walk). So I woke up early on my day of departure, hiked the 30 min hike to the Kumomi Sengen shrine, saw the meaning of “the land of the rising sun” and was back in the onsen for one last bath before breakfast and departure.
