Joetsu-Kokusai Play Land has variety of playing area as its main large pool, water sliders. Also there are enough kinds of pools and small sliders for small kids. Other than water related activities, you can have fun with Merry-Go-Round, Small Train, Go-kart with little more pay. Utilizing its form of mountains, the scenery and atmosphere is good and people usually living in urban areas are pleased by them. If you go to Joetsu-Kokusai Play land with your kids around 3- 10years old, probably have fun time from morning to evening. However there are some disappointing things and something you should know about weaken points of the facilities. You can see attractive information about Joestu-Kokusai Play Land in its website, affiliate pages, or SNS. In this comment, I would lie to share the weaken points so that you can enjoy more at the Play Land.
Changing room might be worst you ever seen. There is a changing room but the place is just small space separated by a curtain. You have to changing your cloth to your swim wear with lots of others in one space and the sanitary is far from clean. The floor is wet and smells bad. Also bathroom near the changing room is far from sanitary. In addition itâs hard to understand why there is a smoking area just in front of the changing room where many kids walk through. It might be ok if you stay in the hotel next to the Play Land and change your cloth in the hotel or change your cloth in your car but in case you have no choice other than using the changing room, you need some courage if you are the person who care about sanitary in your daily life.
No choice for enjoyable food. If you want to have a lunch in the Play Land you have just one choice for restaurant the name is YODEL. The foods served the restaurant is far from good. The food are typically ready-made food for mass consumption. Niigata prefecture or Uonuma area where Joetsu Kokusai Play Land is located are famous for delicious local foods thanks to fine vegetables, rice and long term traditional food culture of these areas, but you cannot feel the sense of food culture in the restaurant of the Play Land. If you are the person who donât care about the taste so much, it would not be problem. If you think you have some good sense of tastes and want to try nice food in Niigata, Uonuma area, find other places out of the Play Land but for the case, you have to change your cloth and get out from the Play Land once. It takes more than at least an hour just for transport though. If I could advise you, never ever hope tasty food and just fill your stomach in the restaurant to enjoy pool or reserve admission paid seat and bring tasty food from your home or somewhere near the Play Land.
Very crowded I went to the Play Land on week day of early August but it is enough crowded because students are on the summer vacation in Japan since late July to end of August. I think it is crowded more in weekend. In the day I visited, although there are a lot of people in the pool and long line for iconic water sliders but we can still enjoy. When it comes to more crowded on weekend, Iâm afraid of not be able to have fun because of massive crowd.
Also I share my opinion about questions which I had before visit the Play Land.
Should we admission paid seat reserve? If your kids can play in the pools without you and you want to have some rest while your kids are playing, the seat must be useful for you. In my case, I went the Play Land with my wife and two kids under 3 years old. Since my wife and I have to accompany my kids everywhere they go and we donât have time for long time rest, the admission-paid seat was not needed. (The other reason is small usually kids cannot play all day long such as elementary school students, so we stay the pool just around 2-3 hours.). For short time rest, free seats or benches are enough for us. As another option, you can bring simple assembly type of tent (Called Pop Up Tent). There are so many people bring that kind of tents and have a rest there instead of...
