If you visit at Miyazaki and stay at Sheraton hotel this zoo is worth to visit. From Sheraton hotel it takes less 10 min by car. This zoo combined a fair and zoo. Zoo area is surrounded nature. Each ride cost is reasonable price. Most expensive ride cost is ¥300.

Thai elephant is a victem of mahout. one of elephant name is Midori, Female. on Monday 8th January 2024, I came here with my family and were see a lot of animal here and the last point was Thai elephants, big one name is Midori Female from Thailand by someone working at Wildlife Fund Thailand. they have 2 Mahout are taking care of elephants here. I had seen one of mahout was sitted on elephant's neck and he had ordered Midori walk into the show point but Midori hadn't done by mahout's order so, mahout had used elephant hook (elephant hook is a weapon of mahout but now in Thailand not used it as a weapon anymore but used it as a symbol by under Animal Protection Atc in Thailand) had chopped goes to midori's forehead and temple many times and bleeding. my family and I, we talked and seen the same what Mahout did to Midori without kindness. so, please Related people go examine fair with animal couldn't speak for their fairness. タイの象は象使いの犠牲者。 ゾウの名前はメスのミドリです。 2024年1月8日月曜日、私は家族と一緒にここに来て、ここでたくさんの動物を見ました。最後のポイントはタイのゾウでした。大きなゾウの名前はメスのミドリ、小さなゾウの名前はオスのチョイです。 みどりは友好の印として贈与でタイのスリン県から来たものです。 ここには2人の象使いが2頭のタイ象の世話をしています。 私は象使いの一人が象の首に座っていて、みどりに見学エリアに入るように命令していたのを見ましたが、みどりは象使いの命令でそうしなかったので、象使いはフックを使用していました。（フックは象使いの武器ですが、現在タイでは使用されていません。タイの動物保護法により、今はシンボルとして使用されています。）しかしながらここではみどりの額とこめかみを何度も切り刻み、血を流しました。 家族と私は、像使いが優しさなしにミドリに対してしたことを話しました。 だから、関係者は動物の保護について像使いのフックがどの様に使われているのか使い方を調べて下さい。

This is a really good zoo for kids. It's big but still walkable with young age children. There are lots of different animals, I.e. elephant, giraffe, tiger, etc. Not much people during weekday which makes your visit very relaxing.

Spacious and not at all crowded. The animal enclosures are mostly good though some like the lions, tigers and orangutan are rooted in the past

日本において南国感が沖縄に次いで感じられる宮崎県。 観光の最終日にここフェニックス自然動物園を訪れて参りました。 入って驚いたのは園内の広さ。 芝生のある広場が相当広く歩き疲れたらシートをひいて休むのみ最適だと思います。 そして園内には神社があるので忘れずに参拝することもお勧めいたします。 真夏の炎天下の日差しの下、木々に遮られたここ住吉神社周辺はオアシスのようにヒンヤリしていてとても癒されました。 園内には像やキリンなどの大型動物をはじめカピバラなどの子供たちにも人気の動物たちも飼育されております。 しかし放し飼いでは無いためふれあうことは叶いませんでした。 ※一部の小動物は触れ合いOkでした 動物園の他に園内には遊具などの施設もあり子供たちと巡るのに良い場所だと思いました。 南国宮崎を十分堪能できるスポットと言えます。

40年ぶり位に行ってみた！ はっきり言って地味だがなんかじわじわくる面白さがあった。チンパンジー展示が新しく‼︎なんて宣伝したそばからお猿に逃げられるというお粗末な展開も許すさ。フラミンゴショーとか昭和的で意外に面白かったし、他の人も言ってたけど、裏切られたわ〜良い方に。 でも一番ハマったのが、ミーアキャットのハピちゃん‼︎‼︎ まぁーーかわいい。呼ぶとなんかブツブツ言いながら近づいて来て、色々パフォーマンスを見せてくれ、最後に睡魔に襲われ寝る。気になって4回見に言っちゃった。 すぐ思い出したのが「ムーミン谷の仲間たち〜春のしらべ」のティーティ=ウー。あー面白かった！ ただ入場料高すぎ‼︎ このショボさで上野動物園より高いんだぜ‼︎ 下げれないならもっと努力しないと、これだから宮崎って…って言われるのだよ。
