This park is so beautiful and a lot bigger than it seems. It is home to chestnut and sakura trees that are over 100 years old. During spring (mid May- early April), which is samurai blooming season the town has it's yearly Sakura Festival with this park hosting the shows and food shops. There is also sakura ice cream which can only be purchased during this festival. Many of the town people come out and have Sakura viewing barbecues during this time as well.
