This beach is wonderful!
We drove here from Naha twice during our 5-day Okinawa stay. As mentioned by others, parking is 500Y for a day, with lots of space. If visiting during weekdays there's a good chance that you'll be the only one on the beach.
The beach is free to use, you only have to pay for rentals (beach chairs, parasols, inflatable toys, etc.) and they do accept credit cards. There are like 20 parasols on the beach, and the life guard sets it up for you. It's a white sand beach with some chunks of coral and shells, if you have sensitive feet a pair of sea shoes might help.
The water is crystal clear and was perfect temperature when we visited last week. There's like a 60-70m stretch where you can actually swim, and the water level can get quite shallow during peak low tide. You do have to keep in mind to stay always in the enclosed area as Okinawa sea life is kinda dangerous. The life guards are on duty from 9/10 am to 5 pm during which time they regularly check the swimming area and the jellyfish nets.
There are several vending machines so getting some refreshments is never an issue and they do sell some food (hot dogs, onigirazu, etc.), but don't expect a full-on restaurant. There are M/F restrooms and showers with coin lockers as well as a feet wash. The showers cost 200Y for 5 minutes but it's only cold water.
Overall this is one of the best beaches we found on the south part...
Read moreTypical soulless beach, only good for watching the sunrise. Beach cafe food is overpriced slop. The PA music seems to be whatever who's on duty likes, rather than appropriate beach music. Which, ideally, should be silence. And the worst thing of all? Get this... It's the only beach I've ever been to in Okinawa where you have to pay ¥100 for a tiny pack of toilet paper! Enough for about 4 wipes. You're gonna have cling-ons with just 4 wipes! So, effectively, ¥200-300 to take a poo. Do what I did and just poo in the ocean. Let nature...
Read moreThe beach is not very big. In fact there is something like 200 meters of the waterline. Water is not deep and there is ok sand with some shells and coral reef debri around. There was a lifeguard on standby for the entire time we were there (1pm - 5pm). You will find public toilets just by the beach, but no places to buy food or drinks despite BBQ sign in front of the beach. Watersports equipment is limited to inflatable...
