I'm of 2 minds about this place. I like that you can see various cars and fighter planes. But then again you really can't see them. There is a glass barrier that prevents you from going around any vehicle. I went there to see the Ferrari F-40 mostly but you can't even look at the dash or rear of it. You just need to look at it from the front. That's really it. And it is like that for all the cars. Also, for some reason you can't use any cameras other than cell phones. I think most of the people giving 5 star ratings are because of what was there to see, not because of the way it was presented. After a 3 hour commute up there, all I can say is it's for people to see the cars in a superficial way and that's what it's there for. It's not for people like me that want to see under the hood or what the dash looks like for example. Basically, I am disappointed but I recommend going to see what's there if you just want to see the front of vehicles. As a side note I recommend the Suzuki Jimny museum in Ayasa or the Isuzu museum in Shounandai. Both let you walk around the vehicles and don't care about the camera you hold. 2 stars but should be 5 if...
Read moreA museum that exhibits valuable Japanese military aircraft from World War II. ⚠️Please note: This museum is only open in August each year. Aircraft restoration work is being carried out by volunteers in months other than August. As for the aircrafts on display, all of them are really rare, and they are in excellent condition thanks to the efforts of the people involved. The original engine used by the Zero Fighter at that time is also on display. Public Transportation Access is about a 25-minute walk from the entrance of the Environmental Science Laboratory bus stop by bus from Kawaguchiko Station. I've been to aviation museums all over the world, but the exhibits here are unique. If you come to Yamanashi or around Tokyo in August and have time, I strongly recommend visiting...
