Nasu Ropeway Sanroku Station — Attraction in Nasu

If you want to summit one of the mountains in the area, the ropeway is an excellent way to get a head start to Chaosudake. Definitely worth the money, especially if you have smaller kids and want to summit. The operators are great and provide story on the way up the mountain. This year we took a 9 and 10 year old up to summit. The head start from the ropeway got us up and back within 3 hours, right before the rain started. 夏からずっと行きたかった茶臼岳。休日と天気が合わず断念していたら、なんと2023/11/4(土)はロープウェイが早朝5時からの「日の出運行」を実施すると。その上、予報は晴れで気温も高い。行くしかない！

前日11/3はロープウェイ駐車場にて車中泊。満天の星空とお月様が美しかった。ロープウェイ駐車場は夜間は空きがかなりあったが4時頃から徐々に満車に。夜間のトイレで使った登山口駐車場は夜間からかなりのクルマが車中泊をしていた。

朝は第２便5:20発のロープウェイで山頂駅へ。茶臼岳への道中に見た雲海、金色に光る雲、真っ赤な御来光は圧巻だった。

コースとしては茶臼岳お鉢巡り→朝日岳→茶臼岳巻き道→ロープウェイで下山とした。 朝日岳は私の体力では無理かと思ったが素晴らしい景色、岩場や鎖の変化に富む登山道のお陰で達成感のある体験となった。朝日岳からみた茶臼岳の形も素晴らしかった。茶臼岳の巻き道、無間地獄の硫黄が噴出している様子も圧巻だった。

帰りは那須町湯本の秘湯「小鹿の湯」(源泉かけ流しの白濁の湯500円)で疲れが完全に吹っ飛んだ。
