N's YARD — Attraction in Nasushiobara

Am staying in hoshino Kai kinugawa for 4 days n decided to gv N’ yard a visit on my 2nd day stay. Not convinced by google map stated that it is closed as I read the newest comments by someone who just visited the place 6 days ago. Yes indeed it is closed for winter. It will reopen again in March...

N's YARD is a private museum where you can experience the art world of Yoshitomo Nara, which continues to grow in popularity worldwide. This art space is located in Nasu Town, and Nasu is the city where his atelier is located. It is a work of Nara that is often purchased by overseas art collectors, but you can meet Nara works in the place of creation. The area is a quiet plateau park district, adjacent to the "Roadside Station" and the old Western-style "Old Aoki Bettei".

よく行く明治の森から何か新しい建物が見えるな〜、と思ってふとGoogleマップで検索したら奈良美智の美術館が出来たと分かりました。

しかし、コロナのせいか冬のせいか、しばらく休館でしたが、3/25頃に開館したので今日4/10にやっと初の訪問をしました！

明治の森との間のゲートを超え、近づいて見ると結構長いアプローチがあり、思ったより大きな建物の入口に達しました。

入ってみると券売機が見えたので近づくと受付のおばあさんに体温測定が先と注意され、その後も細かく注意されました。ただ、マスク越しのせいか言ってることはよく聞き取れませんでした。前に並んでいる人に対しても券を買ったあとも半券ちぎるからよこせ、など注意は絶えませんでした。気にしないようにしたので鑑賞に影響はありませんでしたが、小うるさすぎる人でした。

最初の部屋に入るとレコードLPのジャケットが並んでいました。作風が奈良美智ではなさそうなので同行した妻に聞くと展示説明書を見て他の人の作品もあると教えてくれました。最初の部屋から３番目の部屋までは他の人の作品が過半です。終わりの方の部屋は奈良美智の作品がメインですが大作をドーンと展示しており、数は比較的少なめです。

ちゃんとした展示室は４つあり、入口とか途中の繋ぎの小さい部屋とも言えない部屋が４つあります。急いで見るとすぐ終わるのでゆっくり見たほうがよいですね。
