2022.10 1959年(昭和34年)11月15日に完成した灯台。灯台本体高さ約12.5m、海上から灯火までが約50m、光の届く距離約19海里(約35km)、この場所から佐渡島までの距離が約33kmなので、数字上では、対岸まで届いているという事になります。

一般公開にて、灯台内部から灯火、踊り場、そして嘗ては有人だった頃の詰所らしき部屋にて、全国各地の灯台のペーパークラフト、電球、レンズ等が展示されていました。

内部は、螺旋階段で灯火まで上がり、外部踊り場に出られます。間近で見る灯火は、やはり眩しく、改めて、船舶の航行に役立っているのかと思いました(素人考えでは、GPSがある現状に於いては、遺構なのかなぁという思いもありますが)。

常日頃、灯台の設備点検等されている、また、当日、公開時に案内して頂いた海上保安庁の皆様、ありがとうございます🙇
