Chuzenji Lakeside Boathouse — Attraction in Nikko

We made an unplanned stop at Chuzenji Lakeside Boathouse, and it turned out to be one of the best moments of our trip. The view from the deck was absolutely stunning. The lake shimmering below and the mountains partly hidden in clouds created a peaceful, almost magical atmosphere. A small yet classy boathouse where you can visit as an observation deck. As much as I know this is the only permitted location where you can launch your personal canoes, kayak, dinghies or SUPs. Parking space is relatively tight. During the autumn seasons, especially on weekends, this place will be packed with paddlers.
