Really beautiful and easy to get to. Follow the signs once you get close... Google maps was trying to lead me down some tiny roads. You can park at the little shops for free if you buy something there. We parked in a lot right at one of path entrances and paid 500 yen since we had small children with us. I would caution about taking small children... They did ok, but the path right next to the flowing water is very narrow, so I was constantly telling them to stay to the side, don't run, "stop skipping!", Etc. Read moreWe were able to find free parking near the northernmost approach next to a little shop, but there are probably not too many spots available there; accessing the falls involves crossing under Route 401. It's not really possible to see the main falls clearly because of the route, but it's actually a series of falls next to each other, and all are quite pretty. It very much made me wish I had a drone to be able to fly through the main falls. You'll probably have to pay Y1000 yen for parking (that you can put towards the shops items like apples or miso etc). You can find free parking at the traffic light slightly south of the falls. This place is beautiful all year but I recommend autumn as the colours are just amazing. If you're interested in taking great photos, best to go really early in the morning because this place is a tourist attraction with lots...
