Wakasahime Shrine — Attraction in Obama

The shrine consists of two sections holding different deities. The one which built in a place up on higher ground on the foot of a mountain is called Wakasa Hiko Shrine ( located in south ) and another one up on the lower ground is Wakasa Hime Shrine. Together it is called Wakasa Hiko Shrine. Visitors usually start from Hime Shrine. The symbol of the shrine is an image of jewel and wave representing its deity Yamasachihiko gained a power to control the waves when he visited Ryugu Palace and presented jewels. The deity of Hiko Shrine is often worshipped by people in a business of interior carpentry since Hiko shrine is a god of rugs and tatami mats. Hime Shrine is often visited for women to have a safe delivery. The very first one that comes in sight is Wakasa Hime Shrine as you approach here on the road. According to its historical record the establishment of the shrine is 715. I am a collector of Ichinomiya Shinto shrine stamps in Japan. I visited Wakasahiko (the supper shrine) which is the Ichinomiya and then went to Wakasahime (the lower, but much grander) shrine about 1km down the road. I visited during obon holidays, and was quite sad to find there were no shrine stamps left in the box. I rang the bell, called the posted phone number (which I heard ringing inside the building, but no answer) and waited almost 45 minutes to see if they were out shopping. But maybe the priest was on a long vacation and the shrine papers had run out.

I hope I can contact the shrine and have a goshuin sent to me by post because I live very far. EDIT: we were able to obtain the backdated goshuin. We should have left money at the shrine when we were there. But I sent the cash fee for the shuin plus a stamped envelope and received the shuin a week later with a sweet note.
