Just checked this trail out and it was pretty cool. The view at the end was like nothing I've seen before. Got lost a couple times due to the lack of English signs but quickly found my way back to the beaten path. Speaking of beaten path, the trail is super narrow with a decent ammount of verticality (no climbing, just a few high knees here and there). It seems as though the trail isn't maintained very often as the vegetation was slapping me in the face on either side as I maneuvered through the trail . Occasionally the trail almost seemed to disappear due to the encroaching bushes, tall grass, and tree branches. Additionally, beware of the banana spiders that like to prop their webs right in the middle of the trail, I had to clear at least one during my hike. Lastly, the parking is a bit sketch, there is no official parking lot for this trail but there are a couple within walking distance. But as I said, all bad things aside, it was so worth while reaching the end and taking in the beautiful view.
PS: Don't try taking that shortcut road back to the starting point. About a quarter to half mile down the road, a homeless Japanese man has turned the path into a makeshift home and it's...
Read moreThere's beach parking available on the adjacent street at the water gear shop. From there just walk up the steps and run across the highway to get to the trail head. The trail is a steep incline right off the bat, but it takes like 5 to 10min to arrive at the stone bridge, which has no railing, but still kinda cool nonetheless. If you go further you come across a random house?? Turn left and in total it comes out to be about a 1.5 to 2 mile hike to the lookout point at the top. The whole way is mostly a steep incline on an overgrown, water eroded trail, so prepare your ankles and thighs! From the top you have the choice to either walk along the road all the way back to your car, which is about 4 miles on much easier, flatter terrain, or just go back the way you came. The view is decent, but the pinnacle of the hike for me was the good workout and break away from the buzz, as with any trail on...
Read moreWe stayed at the Renaissance Hotel across the street and this was a simple to find trail. It’s a hard-at-times trail because it can be steep in places. But it is worth it to trek to the top to get a 360° view of the island. The trail is almost completely in dense foliage until the top. There is a viewing tower on top. It’s about a 200m (600’) climb over 2k (1.2mi) of trail. If you like your trails a little challenging, this...
