Personally it is the 4th baseball stadium that I visited in Japan. I enjoyed a NPB game, Orix Buffaloes vs. Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters dated April 12, 2024.
As you know well, KYOCERA DOME OSAKA is home of Orix Buffaloes. It is open to the public in 1997 with 36,627 seats.
I had purchsed ticket via internet a week ago and I handcarried the printed out QR code in paper. In front of Bs SHOP on the 1st floor, there are several ticket exchange machines. At there, I could change the QR code to a physical ticket. Wow, It does not support English. I used a translation app, as a result, I could print it. It was somewhat difficult like a typical tourist like me.
I could not find any food trucks around the stadium. You can have foods inside of it. In front of each entrance gate, the staff will do security check, i.e., bag inspection, and ticket.
As soon as I entered the Gate, I realized that I was on the 3rd floor of the stadium. My seat was on the 5th floor, I used a elevator on 3rd floor to 5th floor. It was somewhat difficult to find my seat but a kind staff guided my seat. If you are a fan of baseball, visiting a dome stadium is worth...
Read moreI came here to watch an Orix Buffalo game without tickets. Access was gained via the JR Taisho station. There's signage that will set you in the right direction from the station. Follow the road, over the bridge keep going and it should be to your left.
I had no problems acquiring tickets from the ticket office when I got there. At the time I went Orix were on the bottom of the ladder so that may be why. The way it works is you choose a side, 1 for local, 3 for visitors and an area depending on budget. I think prices ranged from 2000 to 11000 yen.
Then you get a seat number ( unless unreserved seats) on your ticket to head out and find. The attendants can help you out of you ask.
The game itself was fun mainly because the supporters of both sides have chants/team songs that everyone gets involved in. Really adds to the atmosphere. So learn the basic beat/clap and join in if you can! Oh and for someone who never watched baseball, a very...
Read moreComing here for a baseball game might have been the highlight of my trip.
We started at the shop and they really have anything you could want, they even sold merchandise if the visiting team which I never see in North America. The stadium is upper easy to navigate and the seats we had were awesome, although as a tall person I felt quite scrunched but luckily the seat next to mine was empty so I had a little leg room.
I can’t reside if the best part of the game is the atmosphere or the food. Our least favourite thing was the giant hotdog but any japanese cuisine was phenomenal. If given a chance I will go back starving and try everything I was able to have this trip.
Even if you aren’t a baseball fan this is still something...
