This place is listed as one of three major night views in Hokkaido unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to see the view at night. The views form up there are fantastic, there are places to sit and relax and take in the views, there are several viewing platforms and a little walk trail to see the view of the bridge below, if you are a bit adventurous there’s a zip line too, the cable car trip up and down is a great ride, I’m told that could ski here during winter but definitely not for the faint hearted as the slope is quite steep. If you’re looking for something a bit different there’s also a chipmunk park that you can enter free of charge, but it’ll cost you 300yen for a small container of seeds for the little critters who are so cute, I think the best time to see these little guys is first thing in the morning because in the afternoon they’ve probably had too much to eat and don’t really want to interact with you nevertheless it’s still fun...
Read moreThe view at Tenguyama was just amazing. Starting from the cable ride at the Ropeway, as it ascend to the Tenguyama, at the top and all surrounding area has some of the most picturesque views. The cable ride is at Yen1200 per person and it is just 5 minutes ride to the top of Tenguyama or Mt Tengu. This is a ski resort and skiers ride in the cable car and ski down the slopes. There is only one cable car that rides up and one that rides down. As we get to the top of the mountain, all surrounding areas are just white in snow and looks fantastic. Some activities here are snow sliding and photo taking. There is a shrine and and a shrine gate at the Tenguyama. The town of Otaru can be seen clearly from the observation deck in Tenguyama. And one can just sit and savour the amazing view from here. It was most fortunate that the day was bright and clear. Otherwise, the Ropeway is closed if the...

We were thinking of going snowboarding here but there wasn't that much...
