八橋の中で一番古く、安永8年に天神社の参道として架設され、明治19年に洪水で流されたものを氏子総出で復元したものです。釘は1本も使われてないそうです。 内子町石畳の弓削神社や、高知県梼原の三嶋神社等と同じく、橋を渡ると神社境内となります。悠久の時が境内に流れている雰囲気です。 学問の神様菅原道真を祀った神社ですが、河辺村の一番奥まった地域にあり、河辺村の谷全体を鎮守する神力が...

安永二年（1773）に架けられた橋で、坂本龍馬が脱藩するときに渡ったという伝承もある橋ですが、現在の橋は明治19年に架け替えられたもので、河辺の屋根付き橋ではもっとも古いものです。

I actually found this place randomly when I was exploring Ehime. Wow! It has such a pleasant and mysterious vibe! Loved every bit of it.
