The lavender is still green, no sign of purple yet (May 29th 2019), but the lavender festival doesn't start until June 8th at which time they should be in bloom. This lavender field is the largest in the whole of Japan. Until last year it was the largest in Kanto, but local farmers planted additional lavender to make it the largest in the country.
