Saijōshi Shiminnomori — Attraction in Saijo

Saijō Civic Forest, located on the eastern slope of Hachidōyama (八堂山), is a nature-rich park known for its beautiful seasonal flowers. The park features walking trails, playgrounds, and viewing platforms, making it a popular spot for families and couples to relax and enjoy the scenery. Near the summit, the Saijō Archaeological History Museum introduces visitors to life during the Yayoi period, with reconstructions of elevated circular warehouses and pit dwellings, offering a blend of hiking and learning.

Within the park, about 1,000 plum trees, representing 20 varieties, bloom from early February to early March, attracting many visitors. The adventure playground, equipped with numerous play structures, is a favorite among children. There is also a parking area for easy access.

In spring, cherry blossoms, plums, and kobushi magnolias create a picturesque landscape, especially along the roads leading to the park. The park provides restrooms, making it convenient for those walking their dogs or jogging. Families often visit during holidays and long breaks, enjoying the natural setting and recreational activities.

花や散策を楽しめる森です。西条市から少し山手に入っただけでちょっとした山の雰囲気を楽しめます。高速道路や、西条市内から古代の建物風の建造物が見えていますが、そこが考古歴史館で、市民の森入り口に建っています。

無料で入館できるようです。 こちらも気になるスポットですね。

また、車で坂道を登り行き着く先には駐車場があります。 山の中にある公園で、斜面を利用した立体的なレイアウトでたくさんの遊具が建っている冒険広場があります。

休日には多くのファミリーが子供を連れてやってきます。 自然の中でのびのびと遊ぶことができる絶好の場所です。

駐車場から見上げると小さな山「八堂山」があり、その山頂には八堂山遺跡があります。駐車場から130ⅿ直登すれば行くことができます。

家族や子供連れの方が多くて駐車場は一杯でした。 アスレチュクの身体を使って楽しめる遊具が何種類か設置してあるので結構楽しめると思います。私も以前は良く来ました✨

連休や長期休み等に利用すると良いかも？知れません。

それより上の八道山頂上へ向かう散歩道は、滑りやすいし手すりはないので杖があると上りやすいかも？知れません。特に子供さんやご高齢の方は、要注意ですね。

他にも散歩出来そうな山道もあったのですが足元が悪いので次は杖を持って歩きたいです。
