Miyazaki Prefectural Saitobaru Archaeological Museum — Attraction in Saito

I recently visited the archeological museum and had a fantastic experience! The location is perfect, surrounded by a beautiful setting that adds to the overall ambiance. However, I do wish there was public transportation available, as we had to walk, rent a cycle, or use a private vehicle to get there.

The museum itself is a treasure trove of ancient history, with incredibly well-preserved exhibits, including ancient bones, clay pots, and more. The collection is truly impressive and offers a fascinating glimpse into the past.

A lovely bonus is the restaurant on top, which provides a delightful spot to relax and unwind after exploring the exhibits.

We visited here at the end of February 2024. Unfortunately, we gave up to walk around the outside becauseofthebad weather. However, the musium was a perfect replacement for us. The inside was kept clean and tidy, and the staff were kind and friendly. It wasn't a big museum, but so much info was displayed and easy to understand. We coubelieve that it was a free entrance. There was a cafe upstairs and the handmade cheese cake was so tasty. The parking was at the bottom and needed to walk up the stairs, and we needed to be careful as it would be slippery on the rainy day. 2度目！ゆっくりと鑑賞！ やっぱり疲れるが面白い！ 薄っぺらい知識が付いて行かない。 思い込みが多すぎるのだろう⁈ 1回整理しようと思う。

大阪堺市からやって来ました！仁徳天皇陵が自慢の町です。😅町おこしの為に色々やってはおりますが宮内庁の妨害でなかなか魅力は伝える事が出来ません！😱ご当地ゆるキャラの『はにわ課長』は『はにわ部長』に昇格したものの泣かず飛ばず！😔お土産もバカ高い前方後円墳クッション以外何も無くて世界遺産には認定されたが悲惨な状況が続いています。😔満を持して気球に乗って仁徳天皇陵を上から眺めよう！と言う企画は直前に気球のガスが抜けて企画が延期！😭LINEでオンライン配信しか出来ない引きこもり市長は本当に存在しているのか？😫とにかくここへ来てこの素晴らしい展示を見に来るべきだと思いました！難しい事を理解しろとは言いませんがせめてお土産物屋さんの充実ぶりだけでも勉強して欲しいものです。 前置きが長くなりましたが肝心の博物館は、あの出雲大社に隣接している島根県立博物館に匹敵する素晴らしい展示でビックリしました。😍 しかも無料！情報量が多すぎてかなり疲れましたが展示に掲示されている文章が詩的でとても良かったです。古墳の博物館と言う事で仁徳天皇陵同様に宮内庁のくだらない妨害があるかと思いましたがそれほどではなくてとても見応えがありました。考古学はやはりこうあるべきですね！わからないことが多すぎて！頭がパニックになるのも良いものです。 南九州に青銅文化がない事や埋葬の仕方などとても興味深く新しい知識を得る事ができました！頭の整理が全く追いつかない状態ですがこの謎は本当に興味深いですね！ で！ここに埋葬されている方々は結局誰なのですか？神武天皇との関係は？大和政権との関係は？出雲との関係は？？？古事記との関係は？大陸からの移民者集団？渡来人居留地？前方後円墳の始まりはここから？その答えは展示の中にあったのかなぁ？またゆっく...
