if you are taking public transport it’s difficult to get there, and ended up being a big stuff around for us. The ski bus comes to Makomanai station at 8:30am, 10am, 12pm and 3:30pm only, which isn’t stated anywhere on the website but should be as we missed out on hours of skiing on our last day in Sapporo because of this lack of information that we could of planned our day around. I even spoke with the Makomanai train station workers who said to catch the 98 bus instead, and despite asking many times if it will take us to the north slope like the ski bus, which they said it would, it took us to the south slope, which doesn’t have rental gear available, the clerk at the south slope said to catch a taxi to the north slope, but there weren’t any drivers in the area so had to catch the 98 bus back down to Makomanai station and catch a $30 taxi to finally get to the north slope. At this stage we had spent almost 3 hours trying to manoeuvre public transport to get to this ski resort which is only a 5km distance in birds eye view from our hotel. Website also states that the bus doesn’t accept commuter passes, it does, so seems there’s a few things they need to fix up on the website. And for anyone wondering the return ski bus times are 1pm, 3:15pm, 4:45pm, 6:45pm and 9pm, as this also isn’t listed online. The slopes are nice and powdery which earns 2 stars from us, nice view of sapporo from up the mountain and not...
Read moreOne of the best places Ive ever been to ski. The views are scenic. 360 degree view of Sapporo. Views get more spectacular during sunset. Night skiing is available. Many tracks and many chairlifts. Couple of runs available for beginners. And couple of runs available for the advanced. There’s a green route that goes down from the top of the hill, passing through trees and turning left and right. Very fun place to ski. There’s one black route which was closed. We went there on late March and the snow was still fluffy.
There’s no halal food in the cafeteria, and very less vegetarian options. Suggest you bring your own food. Rentals available. Equipments are high quality. Can’t use card for lift tickets. 🥲There are seasonal free bus shuttle from Makomanai subway station. The biggest downside is you have to show your lift ticket everytime and it’s inconvenient (also possibility of...

Almost no one on staff speaks English. This is even more the case when it comes to Chinese.
If you arrive around 10:00 a.m., you will have to wait for more than an hour for the rental section. Cafeteria probably only about 100-150 seats, but less than 20 will be able to sit down before noon. For this reason, the ticket vending machine in the cafeteria is empty. Japanese yen cash only. Half of the seats are reserved for ski school students, so the general public cannot use them.
The upper slopes offer good views, but the snow quality is often not so good due to its proximity to the city.Powder snow is not expected except immediately after a heavy snowfall.
This place for local persons.
It will go better to go Niseko for...
