日本平への散歩(ハイキング)にはとても助かる駐車場です。お手洗いもあります。ここは標高約150mくらいですか、駐車場の階段を降りたところにある道案内板に従って、約50~60mくらい下ります。下った先の平澤寺の裏を登り、案内板に従って歩いていけば、迷うことなく日本平山頂に着きます。よく整備されていて歩き易いのですが、ーケ所、狭い屏風の間を歩くところがあります。すれ違いは難しいのでお気をつけ下さい。往復の行程時間は、2時間半くらいみておけば十分です。

（2024.4）桜満開の時期に行ったので★二つくらい加算されているかも。公演を見たわけでほなく、野外劇場の説明を聞いただけ。谷が切れこんでいる難しい場所によくぞ作ったものだ。それにしても桜と茶畑と富士山が揃えば文句無し。気持ちがいい場所である。
