We are writing to express our profound dissatisfaction, not necessarily with being potentially overlooked by staff, but specifically concerning the operational procedures and the service attitude we encountered. This is an experience that no passenger, regardless of their nationality, should endure.
We arrived at approximately 15:30 and noticed all gates were displaying a red "Do Not Enter" signal. We approached an older, female staff member with short, silver hair and inquired in English. She instructed us to sit aside and wait for the 15:36 cable car.
During our wait, a male staff member, apparently responsible for dispatch, passed through the gate area multiple times without acknowledging us or offering any information. Approximately two minutes before the scheduled 15:36 departure, the senior female staff member we had initially spoken to glanced at us from the counter area.
However, at the 15:36 departure time, the gates remained closed, still indicating "Do Not Enter." Simultaneously, the senior female staff member was nowhere to be seen. When we inquired with a younger female staff member, who had been present throughout this entire period since our arrival, the only response was an expression of regret ("That's unfortunate, sorry").
We must question the commitment to service demonstrated by the staff involved. If there is a lack of dedication or enthusiasm for providing adequate customer service, perhaps their suitability for these roles should be re-evaluated.
Furthermore, this experience compels us to ask whether there might be an underlying issue of discrimination influencing the treatment of passengers who don't...
Read moreI took a couple of cable cars going up the mountains in Shikoku during my visit. This is one of them that I think it’s not quite worth it. The cable car was expensive and there isn’t much to see. 🫣🫣🫣 I think you could also drive up there since I saw a car park there. Amazing view but you can see these views in many places in Japan. I think we stayed around 15-20mins and then took the cable car back down. I would say it’s a place for locals to hike. If you have time you can hike since they have a trail for hiking but for tourists like us we didn’t have time to...
Read moreThe station was not large and seemed quite old. Adjacent to the building was a souvenir shop and a fast food eatery, providing outdoor seats too. A large outdoor carpark was next to the station. The scene from the viewing point was great, including the mountain, the city, and the outlying islands. The toilets were large and clean. The staff were very nice, reminding guests nearby of the car departure time. If the visitor was in a rush, they even skipped the check ticket procedure in order...
