I had the incredible opportunity to rent a motorcycle from EZ Moto Kansai for a 4-week adventure through Japan, and I can confidently say it was one of the best decisions I made for my trip. Starting in Osaka, I rode through the stunning landscapes of Shikoku, explored the spiritual Henro trail, continued onto Kyushu, and eventually made it all the way to Kagoshima before returning to Osaka. It was an unforgettable journey, made all the better thanks to the excellent service provided by EZ Moto Kansai.
First off, I want to give a big shoutout to Luke, who was instrumental in planning my trip. From the very beginning, Luke was incredibly helpful, offering detailed information about the bike, routes, and tips for riding in Japan. His knowledge and enthusiasm made me feel confident and excited to hit the road. Even after the trip, Luke was there to chat and reflect on the journey, and it was a pleasure meeting him in person at the end. I’m already looking forward to catching up with him on my next visit!
When I collected the bike, I had the chance to meet Phil, who was also fantastic. He took the time to walk me through the bike, answer any questions I had, and made sure I was fully prepared before setting off. It’s clear that the team at EZ Moto Kansai genuinely cares about their customers and their experiences.
The bike itself, a Honda CBR400, was perfect for the trip. It was in excellent condition - well-maintained, reliable, and a joy to ride. Whether I was cruising along the quiet coastal roads of Shikoku, navigating the mountainous terrain, or riding through the vibrant streets of cities like Kagoshima, the bike handled everything beautifully. I had zero issues during the entire trip, which is a testament to how well the bikes are cared for.
Riding through Shikoku was a highlight, with its back roads and scenic coastal views. Kyushu offered more rugged landscapes, hot springs, and vibrant cities like Kagoshima, where I spent some time relaxing.
EZ Moto Kansai provided an entire experience. Luke and Phil care about bikes and their attention to detail made my trip stress-free and memorable. If you're considering a motorcycle adventure in Japan, I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you, Luke, Phil! I’ll...
Read moreDrawing on the inspiration of the book Zen And The Art Of Motorcycle Maintenance (Robert Pirzig), I’ve had a big bike trip with my son on the bucket list for many years. Once he came of age, we started looking at options in America, but before long became convinced Japan offered the experience we were after. Our flight landed in Osaka, which made Bike Rental Japan the perfect choice.
They offered a range of hiring options, but the two Honda CB400X bikes we chose turned out to be perfect for our requirements.
We had an extended hire for two months (April to May 2024) and covered almost 4000km, following wherever the twisty roads led, all over Honshū, Kyūshū and Shikoku.
The bikes performed flawlessly, given us not a whit of trouble over the entire period, for which we were very grateful.
Luke and Phil were super helpful and responsive every step of the way and we could tell they were as passionate about motorcycle riding as we were, offering lots of useful advice, tips and tricks about riding in Japan and a few valuable itinerary suggestions.
They also let us store suitcases at the workshop and accommodate tricky itinerary choices like leaving the bikes for a quick Shinkansen jaunt to Tokyo, even though it must have messed with their mojo a bit (space is at a premium everywhere in Japan).
We would hire from them again in a heartbeat and hopefully will have the opportunity to do so, in the not too...
Read moreIf you are a motorcyclist, love twisty, scenic and interesting roads and are visiting Osaka then Id highly recommend renting a bike from EZ Moto as these guys are the best at what they do. The bikes are in great shape (both Luke and Phil are mechanics), the shop location is minutes aways from the mountain roads (e.g. Rt 110, Rt 4), and Luke and Phil the owners know all the best roads in the area and offer really great advice for trip planning. Shop is really easy to get to from Shin Osaka and 10 min walk from the train station is easy (Google maps is your friend). I rented one of the CB400 for 3-days and included a helmet rental (recommend this as they have a great selection).
Rode from EZ Moto to Kinosaki onsen (6hrs) via Nose on the twistiest roads I could find (e.g. Rt4). Not far from the shop is FamilyMart; Toyonocho Yono – a popular biker starting point for the area. Coming back from Kinosaki I went via the coast road (Rt 178) to Ine and in March it was empty and such a great road. After that headed south via Rt 176 and stuck to the local roads – hardly any traffic until Osaka (7hr ride). The bike handled great and having the Givi fairing on the front (and the top box) were super helpful in the mid-40s temps in March.
Riding in Japan is super easy and the roads are excellent – thank you to EZ Moto for offering such a great service and if I am back in the country again Ill be coming...
