This place is quite hard to reach if you’re not driving. I made the effort to visit because I really wanted to see Tadao Ando’s architectural design. I’m someone who enjoys architecture and museums, and I personally think it’s worth the visit. But if you’re not particularly into architecture or the exhibition content, it might not be worth the travel time.
I didn’t have much time, so I couldn’t explore the indoor exhibitions in detail — it’s the kind of place where you need to spend a fair amount of time to fully appreciate everything. There’s also an outdoor area where you can see the excavation site.

The building itself is surrounded by the woods with accessible paths for easy walks. The exhibition is very interesting, and, although the explanation of what's on a display is in Japanese only, there are audio guides available free of charge! There's no convenience store nearby, so if you are coming long way (for example from Tennoji Osaka), it would be better to bring some snack or food from Osaka.
