Tamba Pottery is one of the ancient six potteries in Japan. Tamba Traditional Art Craft Park is called Tamba Dentoukugei Koen in Japanese. I have visited “Sue no Sato” which means Ceramic Town is the main area of Tamba Pottery with rich nature. Visitors can enjoy not only seeing and enjoying potteries but also experiencing pottery making at the accessible pottery classroom. It took close to an hour to reach there from Kobe. A place where one could see works from potters around the area and decide which one to visit to see more of their work. Recommend to drive there as that will allow flexibility to visit the different potters who are quite spread out...

A wonderful display of 52 different pottery workshops of Tanbayaki - the 6th oldest pottery town in Japan. So much beautiful pottery to choose from, so little money! The pottery class is also a great experience, and there is English instructions for those not familiar with Japanese. It takes 2 months for your pottery to be completed, so be sure to factor that into your trip.

平日にバスで来る際、駅からのバスが午前中１本(９時半)のみ。(次は１４時とか) 帰りも12時を逃すと、１６時位まで無し。💧 週末は本数が増えるらしい。 観光拠点として色々学びたかったが、展示場が2,025年内、改修工事らしく閉館。 残念ではあったが、色々な丹波焼きに出会え楽しい経験だった。
