Kurobe Dam, the biggest arch dam in Japan ranks among Japan's greatest feats of engineering. At 186 meters, it is Japan's tallest dam that was built in 1956-1963(!) This 'project of the century' cost ¥51.3 billion, and construction by a cumulative total workforce of 10 million men. Marvel of engineering superposed with the spectacle alpine gorge at 2000m above makes for majestic panoramic views unsurpassed. Tickets costs $160 return (Murodo) so cater enough time to chill outside / glass indoors at observation deck and rest with snacks / lunch as reward break. The observation deck, 1,508 m up, offers a vast panoramic view of the Northern Alps, including the Tateyama mountain range. In order to maintain the landscape of the Kurobe Gorge, water is discharged during a portion of the year (check dates), and the stunning sight of sprays of over 10 tons of water per second is viewable...

It’s worth visit, one can enjoy each and every moment. Water flushing from date is open from June 15-October 15. A color changing in autumn of trees is a eye...
