A little hard to find. Google directions actually lead to an entry, but it is in a neighborhood, unmarked and slightly overgrown. Went down the road to a nearby temple and found a path there.

Eerie atmosphere, one of the spookiest places I've been to, but maybe that's just because of the nearby graveyard. Not much to see beyond earthworks, but the stillness is a great break from the bustle of Tokyo. I'm not sure I can recommend it though, it really did feel...

Actually I visited a cemetery belonging to Myokoin temple which is adjacent to ruins. You can recognise the ex-moat but difficult to figure the entire design...

Actually I visited a cemetery belonging to Myokoin temple which is adjacent to ruins. You can recognise the ex-moat but difficult to figure the entire design of the castle.
天憂鬼女天憂鬼女
オーソドックスなルートは師岡神社の左側の路（舗装されている）を上がって行き、左手に城山配水所という施設を見て、その右手に勝沼城跡の案内図があります。そこを入ってほぼ道なりに歩いて行く（南に向かう）と鉄塔がありその南側に整備された見晴らしの良い場所があります。そこから西側が光明寺、東側が妙光院の墓地になります。また、そこから北側の青梅ゴルフコースまでと、そのちょっと東側に吹上菖蒲園があります。何回か歩いてみると全ての路を制覇出来ますし、非常に楽なコースで、市街地の直ぐ近くですが、何回かカモシカに遭遇するくらい自然が溢れている静寂な場所です。
