Matsubara Central Park — Attraction in Tokyo

It’s a medium-sized green park ideal for families to bond for a picnic, among other child-friendly activities. Several people with dogs also frequented the place. It has a trail ideal for joggers and hikers. You can see airplanes passing to and from the Yokota US Base. This is one of my kids’ favorite parks in the area. A nice park atop a hill. Lots of exercise equipment, a playground, open central area, and places to sit. There is a channel for a river, but it was dry.

What I look for in a park:

1. A place to sit and relax and maybe enjoy a snack
2. Shade. An escape from the hot Japanese summer sun
3. A restroom
4. Space for activities
5. Anything else fun: water in the form of a stream or pond, exercise equipment, playground equipment, historic...

A park on a hill with nice trails. There is playground equipment on top of the hill. The roller slide didn't roll. It needs attention...
