Things to bring (esp if child likes playing with mud or dirt): water shoes or rain boots (they have some to borrow, but limited quantity and sizes) for muddy play, a change of clothes, plastic bag for all the dirty stuff, towel.
There is a Family Mart about 200m away, so you don’t need to bring lunch.
Depending on the day/season, there may be vegetable picking (we picked radishes today), takibi (fire pit), chestnut picking, kiwi picking (late November).
Various swings (rope, tire etc), trees and apparatus to climb, shovels/cups/bowls for playing with dirt/mud, nails/hammer/wood, wood planks for building bridges, glue, scissors, fabric, chalk, and a slew of tools for playing with water (buckets, cups, etc.)
Ample bicycle parking. Not sure how far the walk is from nearest train station, as we always go by bicycle.

In summer it’s a fun place to cool down, lots of water play with plenty of shade under the kiwi vines. When it’s especially hot, they spray water from a misting system rigged up in the vines! In winter they sometimes have hot drinks for adults and do a campfire cookout for the kids!
Also we got the official word from the prefectural office that it’s fine to come play with visible tattoos.
