Small, yet charming museum retelling the history of the Suginami ward from archeological evidence from the Jomon period to postwar intellectuals writings and lifestyle. Two very engaging exhibits are the model Showa period apartment and the real, life-sized Japanese farm house (kominka) in the yard - through the two of these you can really see how life used to look like in different times, yet in the same place. If you don’t read Japanese it’s best to have a Japanese speaker/reader with you or use any other means to understand some of the explanations.
